WHAT TO EXPECT
We will arrange with you a good time for your tandem flight. Paragliding is weather dependent, so we will confirm with you that conditions are good soon before your flight. We will meet with you at the flying site you choose. Don't worry, we'll give you directions.
We will go over a few things in the landing zone (LZ) . We will then drive (or hike if you choose) up to the launch area. Once on at launch, we will go over launching technique. You will be given your own harness. The harness is very comfortable to sit in in the air, but a little awkward walking around. Your harness will then be clipped on to the front of the instructors harness. We will do a couple of simulated launches so you get an idea of what you need to do.
Now your ready. When conditions are just right, your instructor will tell you to step forward. The glider will then come up over your head. Your instructor will tell you to step or run forward, then whoosh! you are in the air. You'll easily get moved back into your harness.
Now, just relax and enjoy the flight. We'll explain to you how the paraglider flies, how it turns, goes faster, goes slower, rises, and falls. Then if you are comfortable, we'll hand over the controls. Don't worry, it's pretty easy and you will enjoy making a few turns. When it comes time to land, we'll carefully explain what to do. Landing in a paraglider is quite easy, a couple of easy steps and we're done!
